Alexander Lazutkin, Advisory Board Member

Alexander Lazutkin is a Russian Cosmonaut, bestowed with the award Hero of the Russian Federation on 10 April 1998 for the courage and heroism displayed during his extended spaceflight on the orbital research complex ‘Mir’.

In 2011 Mr Lazutkin was presented with the medal “For Merit in Space Exploration”, recognising his great contribution to the field of research, development and use of space, as well as his many years of diligent work and public activities.

Mr Lazutkin also holds the Medals ‘For Space Flight’ and ‘For Public Services’ from NASA.

A graduate of the Aviation Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mr Lazutkin is a Director of the Russian Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics.

Charles Bennett, Advisory Board Member

Mr Bennett is the Director of the European-Atlantic Group, a non-aligned, all party, registered charity aiming to strengthen trans-Atlantic links.

An international affairs and security specialist, he was previously an Army and Police Officer with extensive experience of Internal Security and Anti-Terrorist Operations and Training in Zimbabwe and Northern Ireland.

Since then he has had a varied career in civilian security and other commercial management and consultancy in several African countries, as well as a political researcher in Northern Ireland.

He has also worked in Afghanistan and Iraq in the Stabilisation field, monitoring elections and working on counter-narcotics.

Among Mr Bennett’s specialties are political and military research and analysis; election planning, supervision and observation; counter-insurgency operations and training; and counter-terrorism.
